Once we had the finished piece, I knew that we had created something special, and when I saw the range of emotions the video stirred up in my parents, I realized that this is something that every family should experience. Just like our family, most people have scores of pictures lying around and videos shot at various family gatherings and events through the years. And they’re all stuffed away in boxes, gathering dust. With today’s technology, I can take your photos and videos and edit them into a one-of-a-kind DVD presentation that will be just as moving to your loved ones as ours was to our parents. Since founding Keep It Reel, I have worked with families throughout the United States to provide each of them with a DVD of their life’s journey. I use captions, music and a professionally-designed cover to enhance the presentation, and even more importantly, I use passion––the same passion I used to create my parent’s gift. The beauty of these DVDs is that they can be viewed over and over through the years and always be emotionally rewarding. A number
of years ago, my sister and I wanted to give our parents a special
treat for their 25th anniversary, something other than the usual
range of forgettable gifts. As we were sifting through family photos
and videos, it dawned on us that we could take the still images
and motion pictures, and edit them all together into a memorable
walk through their lives.
